Behind the Scenes TFI

What’s up guys it’s Bryce here,

TFI… where do I start. Well I have known about the tournament for about 8 months now, originally when I got told about it, the plan was for me to fish it with Miller Willson but, 3 mouths before the event we had to pull the pin and could no longer partake in the completion. Fortunately I’ve still been able to watch and help it grow and snow ball into full effect. I have been lucky enough to be in the loop about all the designs, budgets, raw contend, time frames, promo videos and all. There were differently some speed bumps along the way which slowed down the process and forced change in the way it was run. The dramas that set us back were hard at the time however, they have made it easier in the long run.

Being the first time something like this has been happened in the fishing industry we had no idea what to expect, and oh boy were we hit by some obstacles. Sarah, Deano, Benny, Tyran, Bonnie, Lachie and a heap of other people have just gone above and beyond during the last couple months, putting in countless hours of overtime. They have also probably lost a couple years off their life spand ahahah. But it’s all going to be worth it once we watch the final product.

Next years TFI is going to be bigger and better now that we know the basic outline, no doubt that there will still be some jump scars and set backs but we will be ready. Next year some teams will stay and some teams will be replaced, they will be able to fish anywhere around Australia so there will definitely be some interesting locations and species caught on top water.

In 2023 there is going to be an amateur event where the winner gets a one way ticket into next years TFI completion. There’s some pretty stiff competition who have already thrown their hat in the ring and think they are going to win. However, Me and a couple of the Groms are going to put a team forward and have a crack.

So get ready to see us next year with a 70k check in our hands 👊

Good job to Brooksy and Matty, the 2022 Topwater Invitational Winers! I can only imagine how much thought and planning got put into this one, from locations to what they’re doing and how they doing it. The stand up battle board was an absolute igneous idea and I can’t wait to see what they will be doing in the international! Will the contender make the journey to PNG?
