Snapper Fishing Tips & Techniques Ft. Nikki Fogden-Moore

We here at SCF have been lucky enough to know and work alongside Nikki for the past 1-2 years now, and during this time Nikki has filmed, done photoshoots, and helped the team a great deal, but has never had the chance to go fishing.

Today that changed when Benny called Nikki and invited her to come shallow water snapper fishing at one of his new hotspots. Nikki was very excited as this was her first time fishing in over a year and she hadn’t realised how much she missed it. The day started the same as any SCF Trip with Skipper Benny running a bit late, luckily the Fox is fast and made up for it, getting to the spot just in time for the tide. Benny was confident that it wouldn’t be long until the first fish hit the deck, as he had been searching high and low for a new snapper hotspot, and when he found this one he knew it was special.

It was SNAPPER time!!

Sure enough, it didn’t take long until Benny hooked a monster. It’s not a fishing trip without hooking at-least one ‘unstoppable’ fish right?? Benny predicted it to be an 80cm+ fish at least.

For the next 4 hours, the boat was a war zone with Benny and Nikki going fish for fish to see who could catch the most before the bite time was over. They were neck and neck until one rookie error by Nikki cost her the victory and being able to brag that she outfished Benny on his own spot. Watch the clip below to see where Nikki went wrong.
