welcome to the 2021 garmin research & fishing competition
Updates will regularly be posted to this page over the course of the weekend, also links to both the public and members-only scoreboards are attached below!
That’s a wrap for the 2021 Garmin Research & Fishing Competition, and what a weekend it was! This year was by far our most successful year to date, with the weather gods treating us, an outstanding new venue, more determined, passionate competitors then ever & endless vibes & good times all weekend! With reasonably good weather all weekend, fish submissions were firing from the get go, with our first submission only 6 minutes after fishing time began! Unfortunately another year passes where we were still yet to hit the magic number of 2000 fish entries, yet this year saw another amazing effort from all competitors with 145 different species and over 1800 fish caught. Hopefully next year we pass the 2000 fish total!! This year also saw a brand new venue from previous years, shifting to the Your Mates Brewery. A huge shout out to the team at Your Mates for the endless support over the weekend, it made a huge difference in the outcome of the event, we can confidently say we will be back next year! Once again a number of competitors this year went home with more than one prize, showing just how easy it is to clean up when you’re determined enough. LETS TALK ABOUT GOOD VIBES!! This year saw some amazing acts of kindness & love, including winners of our luckY draw prizes re-gifting their winnings to grommies, and of course Bretto and Tal’s surprise engagement, pretty much summing up exactly what our events are about! As always it was awesome to see & catch up with returning competitors over the weekend, and was even better to meet, talk to and introduce new competitors to the SCF Community. Trying to describe the vibe and feeling you get when at one of our events is impossible, the only real way to know is to come down and experience it for yourself. We can’t wait to see you all again next year!
