Fish & Estuary Clean T&Cs
Event Overview
The Fish & Estuary Clean invites participants from all over Queensland to engage in a fun, community-driven event that combines marine conservation efforts, social fishing, and wildlife rescue. The event will take place on Sunday, 20th October, from 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and will culminate in a winner announcement and award presentation at Cotton Tree Beach Bar at 2:30 PM. Participation in the event implies acceptance of these terms and conditions.
Eligibility
- The event is open to all individuals and families residing in Queensland.
- Anglers of all experience levels are encouraged to participate in the Fishing Shoot-Out.
- Both anglers and non-anglers are encouraged to participate in the rubbish collection and wildlife conservation efforts.
Registration
- Participants must register for the event via the SCF Australia platform.
- Anglers participating in the Fishing Shoot-Out must also register their catches and rubbish collections through the SCF Members portal.
Fishing Shoot-Out Rules
- Fishing can take place anywhere within Queensland, including inshore, offshore, freshwater, impoundments, and fishing parks.
- The angler with the most full bags of fish will be awarded the title of 1st Place QLD Champion Angler.
- Full bags refer 2 of the same target species.
- The Top 20 anglers with the most full bags will enter a lucky draw for a Capricorn King of Kings Fishing Tournament Package valued at $899.
- All submissions must be entered through the SCF Members portal by 12:00 PM on 20th October.
Rubbish Collection Rules
- All participants are encouraged to collect rubbish as part of the marine conservation efforts.
- A minimum submission of 10 pieces of rubbish or 1 full bag of fish through the SCF Members portal qualifies the participant for entry into the $2,500 cash prize draw.
- Waste collection details and proper disposal instructions will be shared prior to the event.
Prize Distribution
- The winners of the Fishing Shoot-Out, the rubbish collection, and the lucky draw will be announced during the in-person event at Cotton Tree Beach Bar and simultaneously on SCF Australia’s social media channels at 2:30 PM.
- Participants unable to attend in person will have their prizes arranged for collection or delivery post-event.
Event Timeline
4:00 AM: Fishing and clean-up efforts commence across Queensland.
12:00 PM: Event ends, and all fishing and rubbish submissions must be entered via the SCF Members portal.
7:00 AM – 2:00 PM: Rubbish collection site open at Cotton Tree.
2:30 PM: Winner announcement and presentations at Cotton Tree Beach Bar.
Liability and Safety
- Participants must ensure they follow Queensland's legal fishing regulations and maintain sustainable fishing practices.
- Participants are responsible for their own safety while fishing or collecting rubbish. SCF Australia is not liable for any accidents, injuries, or incidents that occur during the event.
- All rubbish collection should be done with consideration to personal safety and the environment. Use protective gear where necessary.
Environmental Responsibility
- Participants are encouraged to use sustainable fishing practices and dispose of waste responsibly.
- All wildlife and marine life encountered during the event should be treated with care and respect.
Disqualification
- Any form of cheating, unsustainable fishing practices, or fraudulent submissions will result in immediate disqualification.
- Participants must adhere to Queensland's fisheries laws and ethical fishing guidelines.
Media and Publicity
- By participating in the event, entrants consent to the use of their images, videos, and submissions in SCF Australia’s promotional materials, social media, and media campaigns.
General Conditions
- SCF Australia reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the event at any time due to unforeseen circumstances or safety concerns.
- Participants agree to follow any additional rules or instructions provided by SCF Australia or event organizers leading up to and during the event.
By registering and participating in the Fish & Estuary Clean event, participants agree to these terms and conditions.
