KOK x TFI Film King Competition Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

The King of Kings TFI Film King Competition (“Competition”) is operated by SCF Australia Pty Ltd (“The Promoter”). By entering, participants agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

2. Eligibility

  • Entry is open to all registered teams participating in the 2026 Capricorn King of Kings Fishing Tournament.
  • All entrants must comply with event rules, safety requirements, and local regulations.
  • Members of the public may appear in content with their consent.

3. Competition Overview

  • Entrants are required to create an original 10–20 minute film showcasing their experience at the 2026 Capricorn King of Kings event.
  • Films must focus on the event weekend and portray the spirit, adventure, skill, and storytelling of the competition.

4. Filming Window

Participants may film only during the official event weekend:
Thursday 5th – Sunday 8th February 2026. All teams are allowed a additional 2 days window before and  2 days after the event for filming. 

Participants may use up to 10% of footage captured outside this window for context only (e.g., intro titles, previous trips, or narration).

 

5. Submission Requirements

  • Final films must be 10–20 minutes in length.
  • Films must be submitted via the method provided by the Promoter (Google Drive link, upload portal, or similar).
  • Deadline for final submission is:
    12:00 pm (midday) – Monday 13th April 2026
  • Late entries will not be accepted.

6. Film Guidelines

All films must:

  • Be original and created by the submitting team.
  • Include only licensed or royalty-free music and assets.
  • Avoid offensive, unsafe, illegal, or discriminatory content.
  • Show responsible fishing and boating practices.
  • Not infringe on any third-party rights.

The Promoter reserves the right to request edits or disqualify entries that breach guidelines.

 

7. Public Voting

  • All accepted films will be published on The Film Invitational website (TFI).
    • Public voting will open from:
      6:00 pm (midday) – Friday 17th April 2026
      and close at:
      12:00 pm (midday) – Sunday 3rd May 2026
  • Voting is limited to one vote per person per film.
  • The Promoter reserves the right to audit, remove, or disqualify suspicious or fraudulent votes.

8. Judging & Winner Announcement

  • The winner will be determined solely by public vote totals at the close of voting.
  • The winning team will be announced at:
    6:00 pm – Monday 4th May 2026
    via the TFI website and King of Kings social media channels.

9. Prize

  • The winning team will receive the 2026 King of Kings TFI Film King Title and $5,000 cash.

10. Rights & Usage

By entering the Competition, participants grant SCF Australia Pty Ltd and The Film Invitational the right to:

  • Use, share, edit, and publish all submitted films for promotional, marketing, and event purposes.
  • Feature winning films in future events, advertising, social media, and digital platforms.

All Entrants retain ownership of their original content.

11. Conduct & Compliance

  • Participants must follow all applicable Queensland laws, maritime rules, and event safety procedures.
  • Any behaviour that brings the event or promoter into disrepute may result in disqualification.

12. Cancellation & Amendments

The Promoter reserves the right to alter event dates, voting periods, prize details, or terms where required due to operational, safety, or unforeseen circumstances.

13. Liability

Participants enter at their own risk. SCF Australia Pty Ltd and its partners accept no responsibility for:

  • Personal injury
  • Equipment damage
  • Loss of data or files
  • Technical issues affecting upload or voting
  • Any situation outside reasonable control

14. Acceptance

By entering, filming, or submitting a film for this Competition, all entrants acknowledge and accept these Terms & Conditions in full.
