Weeklong Fishing Getaway - Town of 1770
After months of grinding & very little fishing the SCF Team needed a holiday!! So, Deano & Heathy grabbed the 2020 SCF Comp prize boat & headed north to the Town of 1770 for a weeks fishing, exploring & relaxing. The boys spent the week exploring the many creek & river systems 1770 has to offer…
The first two days the boys spent casting the ‘MMD Whiting Glidebaits’, that were unreleased at the time, hoping to land some large flathead. The fishing was hard & the fish weren’t the size they were after, but as usual the boys got the job done. However after casting for two full days straight, hooking 100’s of rays & only landing the two medium size fish seen in the photos below, it was time to change the game-plan.
NO HARM WAS DONE TO THE FISH!
Watch the video below on the boys putting the Original MMD Whiting Glidebaits to the test…
Only so much casting & slow winding could be done, so the boys decided to try and land as many fish as possible rather than 1 - 2 trophy fish. The first day after changing the game plan, the boys punched across the bay up to Jenny Lynn Creek, where they experienced some of the best estuary fishing they have ever done. With large differences between high and low tide the fishing time from the boat was limited, making for a bt of a challenge when trying to head home too!
Flathead, trevally, queenies, rays, and a strange amount of turtles filled the untouched creek. The boys even came across a turtle stuck between two rocks one day when walking the bank and managed to return it safely back into the water. Each cast something was trying to eat your lure, making for a very fun two days of river fishing. Check out a few of the best photos from the week!!
Sit back and watch first hand what went down…
